Our First Camping Trip

We finally got a chance to go camping. We lucked out on the weather, it was one of few sunny days we have had around here. Here are some pictures that took.
This is a side view of Slaughter ridge. It is the mountain we look at every morning from our window.  We will be hiking the ridge someday soon.

Juneau Falls.  About a 3 mile hike, all uphill! It is fed by snow melt from surrounding mountains.  We're about 100 feet up from the base of the fall.
This is Tyler, our guide and fellow employee, enjoying the view.  It's about 9 pm, so we still have a couple hours of light.
This is part of the trail. All the roots along the way made difficult to say the least.

This is the top of the fall.

The night sky with Cecil Rhodes Mountain in the background. It was around 11:30pm when this was taken.

Our first campfire in Alaska!

This is a picture of our tent from the campfire. There are no actual designated spots for your tent so you just have to find the softest spot you can. The day after we got back some fellow employees tried to camp here but were chased off by a bear.
